Returning to the full-length format after their acclaimed 2012 album Hotel Amour (KOMP 095 CD/KOM 248 LP) open band project Terranova (aka DJ/producer duo Fetisch and &ME) presents Restless a finely tuned succession of excitingly straightforward house bangers a brilliant study in gravitational pull and a smooth blend of instrumental and vocal tracks created with the help of old and new friends. Guests on Restless include Cath Coffey Lydmor Bon Homme Stereo MCs and Mandel Turner. Restless was recorded from November 2014 through January 2015 in Berlin bedrooms and mixed in Keinemusik s Wedding studio. Opener Tell Me Why wastes no time with elaborate countdowns or some ambient pad dragging-on; starting out with the characteristic vocals from Stereo MCs front man Rob Birch the track immediately cuts to the chase with it s pronounced rhythm section and a simple but sturdy bass. NY house agent provocateur Mandel Turner makes an appearance on proto-futuristic strobe manifesto Underverse while singer Cath Coffey performs on uncanny valley national anthem Twisted Souls again deploying her unique brand of anarchist logo therapy after her appearance on Terranova s 2014 Headache EP (KOM 296EP). Bon Homme aka Tomas Høffding takes a stand on Restless Summer a top-notch reimagining of Endless Summer from the 2013 Painkiller EP (KOM 262EP) -- less campfire and more wormhole his lyrics take on an urgency unheard in the parent track. He also appears on Skin & Bones in a flawless duet with partner in crime Lydmor. From the sequenced beauty of Goldilocks to the intuitive mayhem of Watch Me the album is a quest for the outer rim of club culture looking for habitable exoplanets beyond the main floor. This is most clear on the appropriately named Kepler 186f both a tribute to NASA s iconic Kepler project and a thrilling amalgamation of pounding drums and sharp synthesizer stabs. The CD version of this larger-than-terrestrial-life journey finds a suitable conclusion in UCH NO INU translatable as dog in space : it s Terranova s executive producer driving force and guest vocalist Rocco (the choc labrador) who takes center stage here lending his lyrical musings to a highly energizing cut and wrapping up the riveting listening experience that is Restless. In the Mid 80s after the release of the single Hungry So Angry and the album the Glitterhouse Rees Lewis the front man (voice and sax) of currently obscure but hip funk-sters Medium Medium left and with drummer Nigel Stone started C Cat Trance. They produced World and Dance sounds ahead of their time and with a floating membership varying between two and eight they toured Europe and released a series of records on Red Flame/Ink Records through the late 80s. The tracks on Karadara: The Cream of are selected from the first EP and the albums Zouave Khamu Play Masenko Combo and Les Invisibles. Also included are five unreleased tracks recorded for an album which coincided with Red Flame s demise. Cherry Red. 2005.

2014 release the first solo album from the Swedish-born vocalist in 16 years. BLANK PROJECT is a collaboration with RocketNumberNine produced by Four Tet and featuring a guest appearance by Robyn. The album was recorded and mixed over a 5-day period. It follows 2012 s THE CHERRY THING a collaborative record with free jazz noise collective the Thing which featured new versions of songs by the Stooges MF Doom Ornette Coleman amongst others.

Ilari Larjosto aka Stiletti-Ana legend of Helsinki s underground is involved in K-X-P Tahtiportti DJ Candle in the Wind Jimi Tenor Randy Barracuda and acclaimed band Jesse. With a fuzzy melody and galloping bassline the richly layered and highly danceable Universal Carrier is equally indebted to krautrock and disco. Through the Skyline I Heard Ur Voice is an uplifting playful slow jam with larger-than-life drum machines and maximal synth-work. A quest for form which is never static and accompanied by two constants: repetition and reduction. Reduction requires repetition in order to make the intangible tangible for humans. This repetition also stimulates our perception and helps US find an inner self while illuminating the primal thought. Another synonym for intangible is not human for the most reductive of primal thoughts sprung from fractal chance does not deal with human beings but with a formal language that is universal drawing from the innermost and only becomes tangible in accidental fortuitous moments. Our efforts to free this formal language by means of fragmentation from the human conventions that bind US to overabundance turn out to be in our limited human perception a never-ending search for artistic discovery. Repetitive Juxtaposition takes up two individual but in their essence mutual interpretations of seeking and breaking form and places them not opposite but next to each other. A split double LP of minimal reductive electronic music by Barbir and Nicola Kazimir - two sides per artist. Features a collaboration between Kazimir and Isherwood. Talented Romanian producer Lumieux from the vibrant thriving Bucharest scene transcends his youth to deliver a highly developed style. Hoshina Anniversary follows his 2014 album Barcelona with Tough another striking piece of work. The intoxicating Tough and the more laid-back Motion Emotion D.I.C.E. make up the A-side.
