Ukrainian tenor Dmytro Popov delivers a magnificent recital of operatic arias including music he has performed to great acclaim in opera houses around the world. Dmytro Popov was the youngest opera artist to be awarded the title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine in 2003 and has since dazzled audiences and critics with roles including Rodolfo in Puccini s La bohème at the Royal Opera House Cavaradossi in Tosca with Deutsche Oper Berlin and Vaudémont in Tchaikovsky s Iolanta with Teatro Real Madrid. Popov reprises those roles for this album alongside music by Gounod Bizet Borodin Dvorák Ponchielli and Léhar whose writing for the tenor Richard Tauber produced some of the most irresistible music in the repertoire. The Templeton Twins (Tippy and Terry) backed by Teddy Turner and His Bunsen Burners were a truly unique group (albeit imaginary) who performed pop songs of the 60s and 70s in a pseudo 1920 s style. The brainchild of legendary producer Ted Templeman (Van Morrison Doobie Brothers Captain Beefheart Little Feat) using double tracking he appeared as The Templeton Twins. the resulting album Trill It Like It Was featured hilarious versions of contemporary hits of the time like MacArthur Park and Light My Fire. the album instantly became a cult classic and now commands high dollars in collector s markets for the original vinyl. Now finally available in the digital domain all selections newly remastered.

With SUMMER S DISTILLATION Joseph Summer as composer offers a new look at the timeless texts credited to William Shakespeare. As artistic director Summer presents settings by Brahms R. Schumann and Benjamin Pesetsky curating an overall impressive collection of works for voice harp and horns. Sonnets V and VI for voice horns and harp is raw and unfiltered-in a complex tonal language which illuminates stark text is the foreground. Sonnet CIV is an art song for mezzo soprano wherein the harp accompaniment plays the role of a lute or acoustic guitar. It is simultaneously heavy and graceful. Sonnet XCI for voice and horns on the other hand is regal and declamatory. The great vocal arranger Randy Van Horne began his career as a studio musician in the late 1940 s in Los Angeles and went on to form the Randy Van Horne Singers in the late 1950 s. The group became famous for performing the theme songs for many classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons including the Flintstones Top Cat the Jetsons and the Huckleberry Hound Show. Their rare late 1950 s audiophile album Our Magic Moment features the talented group singing masterful arrangements of timeless songs including Moonlight in Vermont Ebb Tide Walkin My Baby Back Home and other classics. All selections have been newly re-mastered.
