    Gold Nugget Winter Squash Seeds. 95 Days to maturity. Non-GMO heirloom open pollinated squash seeds. Cucurbita maxima. AKA: Golden Nugget Squash Oriental Pumpkin. Originally bred as a replacement for sweet potatoes in climates with short growing seasons. It was developed by North Dakota State. Gold Nugget Squash is called oriental pumpkin because of its pumpkin like appearance. It is small round orange with lines running vertically across the outside. Golden Nugget Squash is an heirloom seed developed in 1966 and is also an All American Selections winner (AAS). When sowing golden nugget squash outdoors make sure to wait until after the last frost. It is ready to harvest when the skin is soft enough to mark and has turned orange. When harvesting leave a few inches of stem on the plant to prolong shelf life. 170 Seeds in an ounce.
