His father was Vayu the wind god and his mother was Anjani who had been transformed into a monkey under the spell of a curse. Working in brass the sculptor here has tried to project the strength of the mighty Hanuman. With his rippling muscular form Hanuman stands tall atop a lotus signifying his divinity. He wears short thereby revealing his strong legs. His face resembles a monkey but the rest of his body is human in form barring the tail which rises up forming a protective circle above him. He wears a haloed crown and many ornaments. He holds an ornamented mace in his left hand in an upright manner with the weapon reaching slightly above his shoulder. This sculpture was cast in the city of Aligarh.
