For singer-songwriter Seán Barna Macri Park is more than those simple descriptors. His second album and Kill Rock Stars debut An Evening at Macri Park is his tribute to it s community his scene and a time in his life when it was the center of his world. A self-described semi-professional musician since he was 14 Barna played drums for Deaf West Theatre s Los Angeles production of Spring Awakening and on the national Broadway tour for The Producers but it took a trip to Berlin s Club Legarré and it s English-speaking open mic to find his own voice as a songwriter and performer. His new album is a collection of stories vulnerable and openhearted of his New York. In his words It s a character study of the bar itself. It s a safe space but there s alcohol drugs sadness and your own demons. Recorded in Rochester Seán wrote late into the night as producer [producer!] and his kids slept. Moving fast Macri Park became the center of a song cycle documenting giddiness grief history and everything in-between. He enlisted friends including Counting Crows Adam Duritz and David Immerglück harpist and songwriter Mikaela Davis Danielle Ponder and Maria Taylor to bring his world to life.

A former child actor who appeared in iconic American films such as Boys Town Angels With Dirty Faces and Going My Way with Mickey Rooney and Spencer Tracy James Cagney and Bing Crosby - Eddie Davis later became a record producer and label owner in the 1950s and 60s -and even tried his hand as a pop singer. He is an important part of the Los Angeles music scene for that period especially in the history of Mexican-American rock music. His record labels including Faro Rampart Linda and Valhalla were a haven for Latino and Chicano artists and he was instrumental in promoting their music to a national audience. One of the many hits of this genre Davis produced was Land Of 1000 Dances by Cannibal & The Headhunters - a world-wide hit that is still played on radio today. He recorded a few oddball singles as a singer before diving into the music industry full-time including a duet with the famous pop singer and actress Connie Stevens. He recorded one single for the Los Angeles based Vita Records label in the late 1950s that has since become a highly collectable unusual pop nugget. The single Heart Of Ice b/w To Be Or Not To Be features Davis quirky vocals backed by the Ralph Hallenbeck Orchestra. This ultra-rare single is presented here newly remastered and finally made available in the digital domain.

Since the 2014 release of Philly outfit Death of Lover s acclaimed debut EP Buried Under a World of Roses many wondered if a full length follow-up for the band was even possible - largely due to the extensive touring schedule of Domenic Nick and Kyle s other band: Nothing. The Acrobat represents the new vision and direction that Death of Lovers has created. While Impermanence is Peter Silberman s first solo album it could easily be thought of as a continuation of the emotional-spiritual odyssey begun through his work in The Antlers over the past decade. It travels some of the thornier terrain of the trio s previous albums Hospice Burst Apart and Familiars while carrying the conversation further down the path. What distinguishes Impermanence from it s forebears can be attributed to an unexpected injury as Silberman developed a hearing impairment in his left ear that resulted in a temporarily total hearing loss extraordinarily loud tinnitus and an excruciating sensitivity to everyday noises. Writing Impermanence became my effort to meditate on what had happened and grasp what it had taught me: about my mortality compassion and change. There s no remedy for the unpredictable and I want this record to reflect that to offer an alternative way to think about changing circumstances. explains Silberman.
