Extremely versatile, this Le Creuset Cast Iron Shallow Casserole with Grilling Lid does triple duty in the kitchen: Use it as a classic casserole with the lid on for tender, slow-cooked favourites; Use the base alone as an open casserole dish for sautéing, braising, baking, and roasting your favourite foods on the hob and in the oven; Flip the lid over and use it as a grill ideal for searing and grilling foods such as meat, fish and vegetables.The casserole/grill makes a perfect serving dish too, as Cast Iron keeps food warmer for longer at the table. Each piece is finished in an enamel colour that beautifully complements any kitchen or dining decor. Suitable for use on all hob types, including induction, in the oven to 260°C and under the grill, requiring only low to medium heat settings to cook with. Remove all packaging and labels. Wash the pan in hot, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Medium or low heat will provide the best results for cooking, including frying and searing. Cooking on a medium or low heat gets the best results — even for frying and searing. Let the product heat up gradually for great tasting food that’s cooked evenly. If you do need to use a higher heat, lower the setting once the desired heat has been reached Le Creuset Silicone tools or wooden/heat resistant plastic tools are recommended. For best results, use appropriately sized ring for even cooking and to reduce risk of damage to product. The sand enamel surface is not ideal for dry cooking. The black enamel surface is ideal for dry cooking, if oil is required we would recommend oiling your food. When grilling, before adding any food or oil, take a few drops of water on your fingers and scatter over the hot surface. If they sizzle and evaporate almost immediately it is hot and ready for use. (Grill lid only) Recommended oils to use are vegetable, rapeseed and sunflower oil. Never drag your product across a glass surface. Always lift to move to prevent damage. Oven and grill safe up to 260°C. Allow a minimum distance of 6.5cm when grilling. Always use oven gloves when handling hot products. Allow product to cool before cleaning. If washed too quickly thermal shock may occur, resulting in cracking or loss of enamel. Handwash recommended. Freezer compatible and dishwasher safe.
