We prioritize organic practices throughout our growing process—from planting to shipping—so your tree is ready to thrive and produce abundant harvests for years to come. Whether you're snacking straight from the tree, baking, or preserving, you’ll love the clean, delicious taste of your own organic figs. This product is Certified Organic by Clemson University. One of our most popular varieties, the Brown Turkey Fig Tree tends to sell out fast. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy rich, organic flavor and exceptional harvests, year after year. Planting & Care 1. Planting: Plant your Brown Turkey Fig in an area that receives full to partial sunlight (4 to 8 hours of sun daily). Brown Turkey Figs also prefer well-drained soil, though they are adaptable to a number of different soil types. If you plant in a container to keep indoors, place your Brown Turkey Fig Tree by a large sunny window. Once you’ve selected your area, dig a hole that’s large enough to accommodate your tree’s root ball, place your tree, and backfill the surrounding soil. Water to settle its roots and mulch around the tree to preserve moisture. If you’re planting in a container, select a pot that’s about twice the width of your tree’s shipped container. Ensure the pot has drainage holes, use organic planting mix and place your tree. Finally, water the tree until you see water escaping the drainage holes at the bottom of your pot. 2. Watering: Typically, we recommend watering your tree once a week, or more frequently in drier, hotter climates. If you’re not sure when to water, check your soil about 3 inches down – if the soil is dry, water until it is moist or until you see water draining from your container. 3. Fertilizing: Brown Turkey Fig Trees will not usually need fertilizing, but if you notice slow growth, fertilize at the start of spring with a well-balanced blend, like 10-10-10.
