Originally released in 1980, TAMA’s Mastercraft Artwood snare drum quickly gained widespread acceptance for its distinctive looks and penetrating, musical tone. As part of TAMA’s 50th Anniversary celebration in 2024, TAMA is reissuing this classic snare drum in very limited quantities. The 14 by 6.5 inch all-birch 9mm and 6-ply shell is adorned with a unique multi-section contrasting colored center wood inlay and original design Superstar drum badge to give this drum its visual personality. The drum hardware is also a throwback, which utilizes TAMA’s unique Roller Action Strainer, an innovative full-contact (extended) snare wire design that has a single on and off lever and dual guide rollers for easy adjustment and sensitivity. Other hardware features include die-cast hoops, 10 original lug design and internal tone control. Sonically, this drum delivers classic deep punch with clear projection.
