This 120-grit, nickel-plated Diamond Wheel Dressing Truing Tool is an improved version of the original WoodRiver tool we've sold for years. It features a new tougher plating process that holds the diamond chips more securely. Now, it's even easier to take the hills and valleys out of your grinding wheels with a dressing surface 1/2" wide and 1-3/4" long; overall tool length is 4-5/8". Uniform reconditioning of your wheels is as simple as placing the dresser on your tool rest and contacting the wheel. Plastic plate with a 1200 Grit and 400 Grit diamond coated metal plates embedded on opposite sides. This means the stone is thinner and lighter which translates into it's easier to take on the road with you. We found this stone to be just the thing for preliminary shaping, beveling chisels and plane blades, sharpening knives, and touching up turning tools. The 400 Grit side removes material quickly, while the 1200 Grit side can be used to refineand touch up the edge. We had a difficult time figuring out what to call our WoodRiver sharpener because it's so versatile, so we settled on Knife Sharpener. It consists of two flats approximately 3.93"x 3/4" on opposite sides in 400-grit and 600-grit. The plate holds two rods 600 grit rods -a 6mm x 100mm and a 12mm x 100mm rod. At about 6.25 oz., our WoodRiver 6" x 2-3/8" Diamond Stone is a handy size for toolbox, backpack or benchtop. 400-grit side will make short work of small nicks and create the basic edge. The 1200-grit will refine an edge in preparation for final honing or creation of a secondary bevel. This is also an excellent small stone for knives such as pocketknives and kitchen knives.
